Under the title "proDUAL", Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is in the process of introducing dual studies leading to a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the plastics technology course.
The project essentially meets the needs of plastics processing companies and students: More practical relevance, even more attractive studies, enhancement of the plastics image, strengthening of Darmstadt / Odenwald as a business location, early and intensive contact between potential future employers and employees. The topic of our network - sustainability in the plastics industry - draws further circles. This is shown by the discussion between our network partner Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Moneke from the IDK of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and Erik Lorenz from "Hessen schafft Wissen" in their podcast.
In this discussion, Prof. Moneke explains the importance of plastics, their production and recycling and promotes the sensible use of the multifunctional material "plastic".
The companies and scientific institutions within the SuPRA innovation network share a common vision of creating climate-friendly plastics processing – from production to processing and recycling.
The network partners gathered at the Darmstadt Chamber of Industry and Commerce at a kick-off for their first major exchange. In addition to a work plan and a common image, various research and development ideas from different working groups were presented and were the subject of lively discussions.
