May 2021: IHK Hessen Innovativ Blog


 

The Hessen Innovativ Blog published an article on the topic of "Sustainability in plastics processing" with reference to the SuPRA network.

The article deals with the fundamental importance of plastics and the need for new, more sustainable solutions. Corresponding solutions are being developed within the network through cooperation between industry and science under the vision of comprehensively climate-friendlier plastics processing.

April 2021: WIRTSCHAFTSDIALOGE Article


 

Under the headline "Developing greener plastics together", an article about the SuPRA network with interviews of the network partners Bechtold und Sohn and Biowert was published in the 02/2021 issue of the IHK member magazine WIRTSCHAFTSDIALOGE.


The article focuses primarily on the development work of the network's own research projects. Here, the companies work together with the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt on the development/implementation of more climate-friendly solutions in the plastics industry.

February 2021: Dual study course in plastics technology


 

Under the title "proDUAL", Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is in the process of introducing dual studies leading to a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the plastics technology course.

 

The project essentially meets the needs of plastics processing companies and students: More practical relevance, even more attractive studies, enhancement of the plastics image, strengthening of Darmstadt / Odenwald as a business location, early and intensive contact between potential future employers and employees. August 2020: "Hessen schafft Wissen" Podcast


 

The topic of our network - sustainability in the plastics industry - draws further circles. This is shown by the discussion between our network partner Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Moneke from the IDK of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and Erik Lorenz from "Hessen schafft Wissen" in their podcast.


In this discussion, Prof. Moneke explains the importance of plastics, their production and recycling and promotes the sensible use of the multifunctional material "plastic".

March 2020: SuPRA Innovation Network Kick-Off


 

The companies and scientific institutions within the SuPRA innovation network share a common vision of creating climate-friendly plastics processing – from production to processing and recycling.

 

The network partners gathered at the Darmstadt Chamber of Industry and Commerce at a kick-off for their first major exchange. In addition to a work plan and a common image, various research and development ideas from different working groups were presented and were the subject of lively discussions.
